| It is well known that the Taipei Palace
Museum houses some of the greatest treasures of Chinese
culture. Due to their great age and delicate conditions,
innumerable masterworks collected by the successive emperors
such as Qian-long, stored in the repository of the Imperial
court are preserved to this day as treasures never allowed
out of the museum.
In consideration of such a history, the Taipei Palace
Museum commissioned Japan Nigensha Publishing Company
to reproduce the calligraphy and painting in its collection
during the early 70’ s so that they may be introduced
overseas more effectively. Since then, Nigensha has
been successively publishing exquisite reproductions
of calligraphy and paintings with complete fidelity
to the original works in color, size and detail.
To promote further knowledge and appreciation of
these Chinese historical masterpieces, DAYA was established
in 1996 to become Nigensha’s Agent in China. Till now,
we have organized more than a hundred exhibitions in
over 70 major Chinese cities featuring Nigensha’s Fine
Reproductions which received many positive responses
and good reviews.
Besides representing Nigensha in China, DAYA is
also the Sole Agent of Japan’s Contemporary Calligraphy
Institution, promoting the Institution’s reproductions
of masterpieces from the private collection of renowned
Japanese artist, Mr. Sanwu Aoyama. This collection,
reproduced in limited editions includes works of famous
artists such as Hua-yan, Qi Bai-shi, Zhao Zhi-qian and
Wu Chang-shuo.
